Itinerary

  Gangtok to Lachung (Approx. 6–7 hrs)

  Your journey begins with a morning pickup from your hotel in Gangtok between 9:00 AM and 10:00 AM. As you leave the city behind, the drive unfolds through winding mountain roads, lush valleys, and cascading waterfalls. En route, you will stop at the beautiful Seven Sisters Waterfalls, where you can enjoy the scenic surroundings and take photographs. Further ahead, you will reach Chungthang, a significant point where the Lachen Chu and Lachung Chu rivers meet, creating a picturesque confluence.

  Continuing your journey through the serene Himalayan landscape, you will arrive at Lachung by late afternoon or early evening. After checking into your hotel or homestay, you can relax and acclimatize to the cool mountain weather. The evening is free for leisure, followed by an early dinner. Due to the cold climate and high altitude, it is recommended to rest well. Overnight stay will be at Lachung.

  Lachung – Yumthang – Lachen – Gurudongmar – Gangtok

  The second day begins early in the morning, usually around 5:00 AM to 6:00 AM, as you head towards the stunning Yumthang Valley, also known as the Valley of Flowers. Surrounded by snow-capped mountains and flowing rivers, Yumthang offers a magical landscape that changes with the seasons—colorful blooms in spring and snow-covered fields in winter. After spending some time exploring the valley, you may opt to visit Zero Point (Yumesamdong), located at a higher altitude and known for its year-round snow (additional charges apply).

  After returning from Yumthang, the journey continues towards Lachen, passing through rugged terrain and breathtaking mountain scenery. From Lachen, you proceed further to visit the magnificent Gurudongmar Lake, situated at an altitude of approximately 17,800 feet. This sacred lake, surrounded by snow-covered peaks, is one of the highest lakes in the world and offers a truly surreal experience with its crystal-clear waters and peaceful environment.

  After spending some time at the lake, you will begin your return journey towards Gangtok. The drive back takes you once again through the dramatic Himalayan terrain, and you can expect to reach Gangtok by late evening, approximately between 8:00 PM and 10:00 PM, marking the end of your unforgettable North Sikkim adventure.
